Frequently Asked Questions About Your hypnotherapy session

Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that uses hypnosis, which is a unique relaxed state of mind that involves bypassing the the critical conscious mind and access the subconscious mind (more details in next question), to help people change their thoughts, behaviours, or emotions. 


During your hypnotherapy sessions, you will be guided into this relaxed state through various techniques, such as guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation, and verbal suggestion. Once in this pleasant relaxed and focused state, further visualisation and suggestion can be made to your subconscious mind in order to help create positive changes in your thoughts and behaviours.

The conscious mind refers to your awareness and perception of the present moment and the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that you are aware of at any given time. It is the part of your mind that you are actively using to think, perceive, and make decisions.

The subconscious mind is a part of your mind that operates below the level of conscious awareness and is responsible for storing and processing information and memories, as well as for controlling automatic behaviours and functions such as digestion and respiration. The subconscious mind is not directly accessible to your conscious awareness, but it can influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It is your subconscious mind where your fears and inappropriate responses are stored.

As part of your Initial Consultation, your therapist will go through a 2 minute process with you to ensure you can get into the correct altered staits required for hypnotherapy to be effective.  This is completely safe and you will have your eyes open the entire time. You will only be invited onto one of our programs if we genuinely believe we can help you.

It is a common joke that if hypnotherapists could actually take control of peoples minds then they would be the richest people on the planet. The truth is that no hypnotherapist can make you do something you don’t want to do. You’ll be completely aware the whole time and completely in control which is why it’s important that you have a strong desire to be free of this phobia for good, you may just feel more relaxed than usual.

The sessions are conducted via zoom video call. This is a reliable website available on any computer, laptop or phone. We will be available 24/7 if you need any help to set this up. 

The initial Phobia cessation is 90-120 minutes long. Each subsequent hypnotherapy follow up is 55 Minutes long. However it is suggested to leave approximately 5 minutes either side of this.

At the end of working together, you will qualify for the free 6 month after care support package. This includes continued support from your hypnotherapist via email and 1 free 30 minute top-up session to be used at any time by you. There will also be an option to continue working together on a tailormade basis if there are new goals you want to achieve.
